As a supplier to Triad Electronic Technologies, hereafter “Triad”, it is understood when accepting our purchase orders, your organization agrees to meet the following quality standards/requirements in addition to Triad’s general terms and conditions of purchase.  These quality standards apply to any purchase order generated for material or consumables used in the Triad manufacturing process.  The only exceptions are suppliers of office or janitorial supplies.  The supplier may also be referred to as provider, vendor and/or seller throughout this document.    

GENERAL

  • Confirm pricing and dock dates to the original buyer on record (at Triad) within 1 business day
  • DATE REQD is Triad dock date
  • Delivery up to 5 business days early will be accepted
  • Do not insure/declare value of shipments on Triad freight accounts
  • PCB Suppliers – send working data for new PCBs to data@triadelectronic.com
  • Supplier MSL identification is required on all devices with MSL ratings of 2 or higher
  • All items purchased are new/unused/never refurbished

EXTERNAL PROVIDER ENSURES, WITH THE ACCEPTANCE/CONFIRMATION OF A PURCHASE ORDER, THAT PERSONS ARE AWARE OF THEIR CONTRIBUTION TO PRODUCT OR SERVICE CONFORMITY INCLUDING THEIR CONTRIBUTION TO PRODUCT SAFETY AND THE IMPORTANCE OF ETHICAL BEHAVIOR.

All communication to Triad should be made to the buyer on record. Written/electronic communication is preferred to maintain traceability.

Triad reserves the right of final approval of product and services; methods, processes, and equipment; the release of final product and or services.  All special processes required by a purchase order must be performed by qualified personnel.

Key, critical, and special characteristics are to be identified and controlled as noted on the Purchase Order or specification.

RIGHT OF ACCESS

Right of access by Triad, our customer and regulatory authorities to the applicable areas of all facilities, at any level of the supply chain, involved in the order and to all applicable records to include verification and validation on-site, as defined on the Purchase Order and arranged with the supplier.

QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

External Provider, including their sub-tier providers, must have an implemented Quality Management System (QMS) unless otherwise approved with exceptions by the Triad QMS Representative.  Triad  reserves the right to review the QMS.  Standard QMS Requirements include:

  • Vendors providing calibration services must provide evidence of calibration traceable to NIST.
  • Customer directed sources (suppliers) must operate in accordance with approved specifications and standards, as dictated and controlled by the customer in question
  • The vendor shall maintain the proper identification and revision status of specifications, drawings, process requirements, inspection/verification instructions and all other relevant technical data.

TEST SPECIMEN

Triad reserves the right to approve or specify any designs, tests, inspection plans, verifications, use of statistical techniques for product acceptance, and any applicable critical items including key characteristics.  Triad reserves the right to designate requirements for test specimens for design approval, inspection/verification, investigation, or auditing (where applicable).

Any statistical techniques used for inspection sampling must be pre-approved, such as sample inspection plans.

NON-CONFORMING MATERIAL (OUTPUTS)

External Provider shall notify Triad of non-conforming product within 24 hours of discovery of such non-conformity, regardless of whether it be prior, during, or after receipt of the product.  Triad does not grant disposition authority for non-conforming products.  No known non-conforming product shall be shipped to Triad without written authorization. 

External Provider shall obtain Triad’s approval for non-conforming product disposition.

SERIOUS FAILURES, MALFUNCTIONS OR DEFECTS

External Provider shall notify Triad of any serious failures, malfunctions or defects found in the product within 24 hours of discovery via written notification/communication.

CHANGES

External Provider shall notify Triad of changes in product and/or process, changes of suppliers, and changes of manufacturing facility locations within 24 hours.

Specific to bare board manufacturing, brokers may not move repeat board orders among flow-down factories without written approval.  Approved factory changes will require FAI.  

SUBCONTRACTORS

Triad does not allow its suppliers to subcontract any product or process to a sub-tier supplier without prior written consent.  If a subcontractor is required, notification must be provided to Triad in writing, stating the service to the provided and the subcontractor(s) to be used.

Specific to bare board manufacturing, brokers may not move repeat board orders among flow-down factories without written approval.  Approved factory changes will require FAI.  

FLOW DOWN

Flow down to the supply chain the applicable requirements including all Purchase Order requirements and key characteristics to the supplier’s vendors of any approved outsourced products or services is required.

SUPPLIER PERFORMANCE MONITORING

Performance of suppliers is monitored specific to:

  • On-time delivery
  • Quality (condition and accuracy of orders)
  • Customer Service (responsiveness)

Poor performance and/or trends that impact Triad production and quality will be escalated for corrective action response.

CORRECTIVE ACTIONS

Corrective Actions flowed to the External Provider shall be completed and returned in a timely manner.  External Provider is required to flow down corrective action requirements to sub-tier providers when it is determined the sub-tier provider is responsible for the non-conformity.

INCOMING INSPECTION

Triad performs incoming inspection to ensure the purchased product meets purchasing requirements.  These requirements may include:

  • Verification of the certificate of conformity, or other certifications.
  • Products are inspected to ensure they meet requirements (dimensions, color, etc.) and the results are recorded when appropriate or required.
  • Any special processes (plating, heat treat, etc.) where the compliance cannot be verified by Triad inspection, a certificate of conformity or other applicable documents will be required.

RECORD RETENTION

External Provider shall retain all Records including disposition requirements associated with the Purchase Order as required by contract for a minimum period of 10 years and the records to be deliverable to the Triad Buyer of Record or QMS Representative within 48 hours after requested.

FOREIGN OBJECT DEBRIS/DAMAGED (FOD) PREVENTION

When applicable, External Provider shall maintain a FOD prevention program.  The program  shall review any manufacturing or special process to identify and eliminate the risk of FOD.  Work areas shall be maintained to prevent FOD.

PREVENTION OF COUNTERFEIT PARTS

External Provider shall plan, implement, and control their process for the prevention of counterfeit or suspect counterfeit parts from distribution or use in the purchased product.

PREVENTION OF SUSPECTED UNAPPROVED PARTS

External Provider shall plan, implement, and control a process that identifies and prevents the release of unapproved and suspected unapproved parts or inclusion into the purchased product.

CONSUMABLE MATERIAL/ITEMS WITH EXPIRATION DATES

Approval of materials is required from the original buyer on record if the expiration date of an item is within 1 year (365 days) of the dock date.

BARE BOARD ORDERS

  • 100% electrical testing against provided netlist required.  If no netlist is provided please halt processing and contact Triad.  DO NOT GENERATE NETLIST FROM GERBERS.
  • Any contradiction between PO item notes and fabrication drawing notes should be escalated to the buyer on record at Triad – halt processing.
  • All PCB orders must include a final gerber package to be valid.
  • Written authorization is required for any deviation from gerber, readme, fabrication drawings or other applicable data.
  • PCB Material must meet or exceed IPC-4101B/26 specifications (Tg of 170c or greater) and be RoHS compliant.
  • All PCB finishes shall be RoHS compliant unless specified as HASL Tin-lead.
  • Certificate of Conformance and Material Certifications are required with each pack slip and shipment.
